President
Paul Gesko is President and Treasurer of both Miller Gesko and Miller Gesko Hudson Research, Inc. He is the founder and principal of both firms, as well as a member of their Investment Advisory Committees. In addition to his responsibilities as financial planner and advisor, Paul oversees all aspects of company operations, including the income and estate tax departments. He also manages the Sarasota, Florida office.
Before joining Miller Gesko in 1969, Paul specialized in trusts and estates for individuals in the Trust Administration Department of M & T Bank. He attended the American Institute of Banking and graduated from Bryant & Stratton Business Institute of Banking in Buffalo, New York. His studies have focused on income, estate and trust tax issues in seminars sponsored by the American Institute of CPA's and the State University of New York at Buffalo.
Paul is Chairman and Treasurer of the Easter Seals Foundation in Sarasota, Florida, and is active in many other community organizations.
Robert L. Miller, Jr.
CFP® Vice-president of Client Relations
Bob’s multiple roles include VP of Marketing and Client Relations, and active participation in the portfolio management, serving as a member of the Miller Gesko Investment Committee. Bob also assists with the day-to-day management of the firm.
Before joining Miller Gesko 1999, He was a specialist in the retirement planning business. While at P&A Administrative Services, Inc. he worked in the areas of group defined benefit plans, traditional and Roth individual retirement accounts and estate protection using investment and insurance vehicles. Bob has also done, and continues to do research in the area of long term care for the elderly and disabled. Previously, he was Vice President of Operations and Chief Financial Officer of Litelab Corporation, an international specialty lighting company.
Bob earned a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration from the University of Denver, and is a Certified Financial Planner ™ practitioner. He is a member of the Financial Planning Counselors of Western New York, the Financial Planning Association, and the Buffalo Society of Security Analysts. Bob is also on the board of the Church Mission of Help.
Henry Z. Urban, Jr.
Vice-President of Miller Gesko
Henry is primarily responsible for the Estate Management Division as well as the fiduciary and regulatory compliance officer for Miller, Gesko. He is a member of the Miller Gesko investment committee.
After practicing law briefly, he worked in M & T Bank's National Department as a loan officer for several years. He began his career in the trust industry in 1985 at M & T Bank, and continued it at Chase Manhattan Bank. Prior to joining Miller Gesko, he was responsible for all personal fiduciary and agency relationships for the Western New York region of Key Trust Company, including trust, estate, IRA, custody, investment management, foundation and endowment accounts.
Henry is a member and past president of the Financial Planning Counselors of Western New York, and is also a member of the Estate Analysts of Western New York. He received a B.A. in Economics from Hamilton College, Clinton, NY; and a J.D. from Suffolk University, Boston, MA.
Robert L. Miller
Chairman
A founder and principal, Bob Miller is Chairman of the Board of Miller Gesko Hudson Research and Chairman of Miller Gesko. He is a financial planner, advisor and chairman of the Investment Advisory Committee of both firms.
Before 1970, when he joined the private office established by his father, Edwin Lang Miller, Bob was vice president and senior loan officer of Liberty National Bank & Trust Co. and manager of its National Division. He has held many leadership positions in both public and private community institutions, including trustee of the Albright-Knox Art Gallery, formerly, chairman of the Finance Committee of the Foundation for the Buffalo General Hospital, and honorary trustee of Kaleida Health Systems. Currently he serves on the investment committee of the Albright-Knox Art Gallery.
Bob graduated from Dartmouth College, and the American Institute of Banking Stonier School of Graduate Banking at Rutgers University. He served with the U.S. Navy in World War II. Bob is a member of the Buffalo Society of Security Analysts.
Paul Olszewski
CFA, Director of Research
Paul is a holder of the Chartered Financial Analyst designation and has over 20 years of investment industry experience. He serves as Miller Gesko's Director of Research. Paul is involved in all aspects of the firm's investment process. Paul actively participates in portfolio management of client accounts and is a member of the Miller Gesko Investment Advisory Committee.
Prior to joining Miller Gesko, Paul was Vice President, Director of Research, and Chairman of the Investment Council at Harold C. Brown & Co for 8 years. At Harold C. Brown & Co., he was responsible for that firm’s equity, fixed income, and mutual fund investment processes. Paul was also a Vice President and research analyst at Merrill Lynch Investment Managers’ Private Investors division for 5 years. He started his career at Value Line in 1991 as an equity analyst and later worked in the same capacity at ABN AMRO. Paul also has a background in corporate governance through his past work as a consultant to Governance Metrics International.
Paul earned a Bachelor of Science with a concentration in Finance from Fordham University. He is also a member of the CFA Institute, the New York Society of Security Analysts, the CFA Society of Buffalo and the Consumer Analyst Group of New York.
